How do I order?

 

You can use the Ovenly Love Order Form to send us a quote request enquiry or pop us an email.

Once you’ve received your welcome package and quote we require a 50% deposit to secure your booking.  You can approve your quote online to make the deposit. The remaining balance will be due 1 week before your event.  Orders that are made 1-2 weeks before the event require a full payment. Orders for weddings require full payment 1 month before the special day

How do I know what size cake to order?

 

Cake sizes vary on your unique event requirements.  Plus, who doesn’t love a few extra slices of cake to take home and enjoy again later…. yummy!

A cake cutting guide will also be sent to you with your welcome package upon requesting a quote.   If you still aren’t sure, don’t worry, we are here to help and we can’t wait to make your event extra special!  We’ll guide you through the whole process!

What is the difference between standard, double barrel and tiered cakes?

 

A standard cake has 2-3 layers of cake sponge and is +/- 6-8cm high with delicious buttercream or filling between each sponge layer.  A double barrel cake  is about 4-6 layers  of cake sponge and is +/- 10-15cm high with delicious buttercream or filling betweent each sponge layer.  A tiered cake has 2 or more cakes stacked on each other.  Tiers come in many heights and variations and can be suited to the number of servings you require.

These measurements are merely a guide, as each order is uniquely made for your event.

How should I store my cake, cupcakes, cakepops or cookies?

 

Buttercream cakes and cupcakes can be refrigerated.  We recommend taking the cake out of the fridge 1-2 hours before you plan on eating it, as the flavours are the best at room temperature.  It’s not always necessary to place your cake in the fridge so it’s worth checking the weather for the day of your event and then making a decision especially in the warm and humid summer climate we all know and love in South Africa.

We don’t recommend placing fondant cakes in the fridge as the moisture in the fridge causes the fondant to go sticky and it can make the cake ‘sweat’ which could damage the decorations.  The fondant acts as a sealant to help keep your cake fresh and moist.

Cake pops are covered in chocolate which helps seal the delicious sponge inside to keep them fresh and tasty.

Custom Cookies are individually wrapped and can be kept up to 3 weeks for optimal flavour and freshness.

Do you make special dietary baked goods?

 

We are happy to offer delicious gluten free, diary free, vegan and sugar free baked goods.  Please remember that our kitchen contains all these ingredients and you may find traces in your baked goods.  We can’t guarantee that traces won’t be found in your order.

Do you offer baked goods for corporate events?

 

We love working with companies, event planners and cafes.

We can make large scale orders for special corporate events and our specialty is custom designed logo cookies that are perfect as treats to create a ‘wow’ factor at events, conferences or as gifts for office staff.

How soon should I place my order?

 

Baking calendars can fill up pretty quickly, so it’s best to order as soon as possible to avoid being disapointed.  We prefer at least a few weeks notice, subject to availability.  The earlier the better!

How can I pay for my order?

 

We accept direct bank deposits (EFT’s).  You will receive our banking details on your quote to make a 50% deposit to secure your order.

Do you have a refund/cancellation policy?

 

Life happens….. we get that!

We will always contact you a few days before your order is scheduled for collection or delivery to confirm the times and locations. If you miss your delivery or collection we will make every attempt to get hold of you to make new arrangements, calender permitting.  Unfortunately, we cannot gaurantee that we will be able to accomodate a new collection or delivery time before your event 😢  We always start our prep work and ingredient purchases early to make sure we give you the best service to make your event memorable and special. So if a cancellation is made, we can’t always offer a refund.

Sometimes a change also needs to be made to your order…. we are happy to help were we can.  If there is enough time to accomodate your changes then we can definately assist.  Changes may require us to requote you and it may incure additional charges.
